What to do in Gomera?

What did we do during two weeks in La Gomera and Playa de Santiago?

We hired a Skoda Octavia for 3 days:

1st day from Playa to the mountain area and Garajonay National Park, then to toValleGran Rey and back before dark to Playa Santiago.

2nd day to the north of the island, Hermigua and Agulo.

3rd day visit the capital San Sebastián de La Gomera

The seond week Inger and I spent alone here as Bengt and Marja-Säde had returned home to Finland.
Wheather was nice and sunny every day but hot during middle of the day so we made our daily walks to the village.
My condition and walking did not permit long hikes so we walked several times a day from BellaVista Apartments down the road to the Playa and the harbor

I had good use of my walking polesand my condition improved considerably during these weeks.
Walking by the steep lanes and steps

only in mornings and evenings and held our siesta in hot middays like the locals.
On November 20th we took Garajonay Exprés ferry to San Sebastian to do some shopping. Returned the same afternoon.
After we had been to all places in the village

we found our favorite place
where we enjoyed our daily pequeño Doradas and tapas.
We noticed that guests stating at Jardín Tecina also escaped here to enjoy the authentic atmosphere.

In the evenings we enjoyed our own meal on the balcony after an aperitif of Ron Miel Cocal during the "blue hour" before sunset.
