Sibbo (fi. Sipoo) is a medium sized community at the south coast of Finland close to Helsinki
Despite the short distance to the capital the nature is still rather unspoilt and there are vast areas of forests and small lakes mixed with agricultural countryside.

Sibbo lies on the famous King’s Road, one of the oldest trade routes in Europe running all the way from Bergen in Norway, through Sweden and Finland to St Petersburg in Russia

Sibbo 650 years!
The exact age of Sibbo is unknown but already the Vikings probably sailed up the Sibbo River on their voyages in the Gulf of Finland. The first mediaeval documentary material where Sibbo is mentioned dates from 22 September 1352. It is a letter from King Magnus Eriksson and the original is saved in the Black Book of Turku Cathedral.
