Total area 42,7 km² including the islets, only 4 km broad and 11 km long. Inhabitants about 5000.

Porto Santo Line departs from Funchal at 8 a.m. 
and departs from Porto Santo about 5 p.m.
You can make the voyage in one day, but then there is not much time to explore the island. We stayed for 3 days, hired a car
and there is no village or miradore we have not visited
There are a few hotels of  which we for our three day visit chose
the ****Torre Praia right on the beach.
This remote island is situated 40km NE from Madeira and you can reach it by ship in less than three hours from Funchal.
Summertime this is the vacation destinations of local people from Madeira to enjoy beach life.
