KÄLLSKÄR, N59° 54´ E 20° 54
A rocky island just south of Kökar has an interesting story.
The island was formerly only used by fishermen and the vegetation was poor, not even sufficient for sheep.
One day in the summer of 1958 a  private Swedish yacht spotted the island and anchored in the north harbour and the owner went ashore. Since then this island has been connected to Baron Göran Åkerhielm. For many years he worked with the idea to turn this place to a "Garden of Eden". Here he lived from early spring to late autumn and had many visitors especially from Switzerland.
